PodcastsThere have been some problems with getting these updated but I have been assured that they will be soon.Podcasts. The Episode 4 show is not actually about Ireland, but is entitled "Thinkers Part 2". What's it about then?Voice On Record presents a selection of recordings of the human voice, and occasionally animal voices, which have been preserved on vinyl for many different reasons. Historic events stand alongside esoteric guides to better bowling, and dry, crisp studio recordings stand next to location recordings full of fascinating incidental sounds, which help to capture the time and place better than words. From prolific labels such as Argo, Folkways, BBC Recordings and Caedmon to smaller labels and private pressings, records featuring the spoken word were issued in great quantities. It is a magical experience to take home and play such a record, found amongst a pile of dusty James Last and Abba albums in a charity shop, and to hear the sound of these voices speaking to you from the past about things you never knew you might be interested in. Playlists and InfoEvery week I will list the details of the recordings I have played and I may even post some pics of the record sleeves too.
